The following photographic project is a visual narrative dedicated to documenting the rural areas of Calabria, a region that has been worn down for decades and is facing a severe demographic and economic crisis. Despite numerous efforts in recent years to promote the culinary and scenic beauties of Calabria, the authentic essence of the region itself has been neglected. It emerges as a place of silent nostalgia, where ancient traditions blend with the passing of time. The photographs reveal faces marked by labor and wind, rugged and quiet landscapes, traces of a rural life that is slowly fading away. It is an homage to the resilience of the Calabrian soul, a visual poetry that captures the essence of the past in a fragile present.
